The Council monitors the average earnings for workers as a key indicator of prosperity. This measure has shown increases every year since 2012. In 2013 there was a large increase of £18.70 reported while other years have seen smaller increases.
The last time data was reported was in April 2016. There was another increase in the average earnings, in this case of £7.90. The Council will continue to work with businesses and educators to ensure skilled people and well paid jobs are available in Central Bedfordshire.
